The Fort Walton Beach Housing Authority (FWBHA), established in 1968, is committed to providing safe and affordable housing options and economic opportunities for residents of Okaloosa County. The Fort Walton Beach Housing Authority is an independent, public entity funded primarily by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The FWBHA is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners, and they are appointed by the Fort Walton Beach City Council.

Objectives:
The Fort Walton Beach Housing Authority assists low-income individuals and families by providing housing units in the public-private housing markets via Section 8, and Public Housing.

The Fort Walton Beach Housing Authority also provides residents with programs and opportunities that promote economic enrichment and upward mobility.

All applicants must meet all eligibility requirements. The Housing Director and staff will eagerly assist applicants seeking housing assistance and inform them of their housing options.
